Persona 6 Gets Encouraging Update

Although Persona 6 didn’t make an appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase, fans can rest assured that this highly anticipated title is in development. The massive success of Persona 5 has taken the entire franchise to new heights, making the excitement for the sequel at its peak. Unfortunately, a decade has passed since Persona 5 was released and Persona 6 is yet to be officially announced, making the wait for fans even more nerve-wracking.

After Persona 5 first released in 2016, the title spawned numerous spin-offs, enhanced ports, and remakes. Now, another big step has been taken in the franchise, as Persona 4 Revival, a remake of Persona 4, has recently been announced, though a release date is currently unknown. While this news has longtime fans excited, some are also raising concerns as to why Atlus hasn’t given any hint of Persona 6 until now.

Addressing fans of the Persona franchise after the announcement of the Persona 4 remake, P-Studio’s Kazuhisa Wada assured that the studio is ‘preparing for the future of the franchise’. He also confirmed that the team is working on the next Persona game and hopes to ‘meet the expectations of fans around the world’. While he didn’t specifically name Persona 6, Wada saying that the game still needs more time and urging fans to ‘wait a little longer’ is a clear indication that the studio is seriously working on the next big projects in the pipeline.

Atlus is Preparing for the Future of the Persona Series

The next release in the Persona series is now really close. Even though no definite release date has been announced for the Persona 4 revival, fans will have the chance to experience Persona 5: The Phantom X later this month. This gacha-based RPG spin-off, which has already released in some regions in 2024, is now launching globally on June 26. Even though it is a mobile spin-off, The Phantom X includes many of the distinctive features of the original Persona 5 series, making this release still special and interesting for fans of the series.

At the same time, our entire studio is working on preparing for the future of the Persona series. We are developing new titles to meet the expectations of fans around the world, so we ask that you please be a little more patient.

While it’s always better for fans to wait for official information, recent leaks related to Persona 6 indicate that the game may launch in 2026. According to reports, Persona 6’s theme color will be “green” — just like blue in Persona 3, yellow in Persona 4, and red in Persona 5. If these rumors turn out to be true and the game is indeed coming in 2026, an official reveal can be expected soon. So fans should keep an eye out for new information in the coming time.
