The effect is that the Hellion Mortar disintegrates into projectiles that chase enemies after an impact. Hunters will get a Strand Chest Piece called Moirai, which gives them the ability to explode a Tangle and retrieve it using the Threaded Spike melee attack. For Titans, Melas Panoplia is a Solar Gauntlet that gives players the power to become a Forge Master, making their throwing hammer behave like a boomerang. If this technique is used at the right time, it generates an explosion that also extends the Forge Master’s active duration.
